photojournalistic philosophy
to draw you into a love story of photos

still emotions and fine art. Those that choose Ralph, do so for his
photojournalistic approach to weddings and his passion for turning your wedding
memories into art.
Ralph is a member of

Toronto brides
rave about Latino's Shoes' huge selection, 'take home' shoes & award-winning customer
service
For many, shoes are
a girl's best friend. For others, the wedding day is the first time they've put real thought into shoes that are meant to make a statement. Latino's Shoes &
Accessories is a popular shop in Cambridge Ontario that draws brides from
Toronto, Cambridge, K-W, London and beyond. This shop is filled end to end with dressy,
dye-able, customizable shoes of every size, style and shape. From strappy sandals
to stilettos, Latino's has the shoe you're looking for - and the purses to
match! Also carrying tiaras, bridal jewellery, men's and children's shoes,
wraps, shawls, cape rentals for winter brides, hair pieces, luggage, swimsuits, watches, and more, The Ring spent hours in
this wonderland of accessories... and we're not the only ones.
Personally speaking...
Bonnie Pereira first
became interested in shoes and accessories after years of ballroom dancing -
more specifically, Latin ballroom dancing. She found that it was difficult to
find quality...

Stone Photography uses a fashion editorial
approach to
show brides that any girl can look like a supermodel on her wedding
day
After more than eight years in the business of wedding and
fashion photography, Judi Douglas of Stone Photography has a name
that stands for itself. Each year, her calendar fills up more
quickly than the one before it. Judi's reputation for being able to
find the romance and personality in all people precedes her and yet
after hundreds of weddings, she still finds her own passion for
wedding photography unwavering. "Every person has their own unique
beauty. I love being able to capture that in a photograph, to freeze
that moment into a memory you can hold in your hand."
You can most often find her shooting
fashion, family, corporate, model or engagement shoots in her large,
hardwood and brick Kitchener loft studio, her Newfoundland office,
or on-location in Toronto and Southwestern Ontario. Let us explai n...

Maya
shows how having fun and getting caught up in the moment translates
into beautiful wedding photos
Maria and Dusan Drobny
of Maya Photographic Studio believe in true love. You can see that in the
way they act with each other and the way they talk about
photographing weddings. This husband and wife team seems to be as in
love with the art of photography and the beauty of weddings as they
are with each other. Their studio and portfolio easily qualify
to top up your 'short list' of must-see's. And if you feel half as
inspired by this couple and their work as we were, you'll likely
also be inspired to hire them for your wedding day photography.
With fun, artistic
images that are a combination of formal poses and surprise candid
shots, Maya Photographic Studio offers brides a love story and photographs
that are easy to be captured by. This was one of staff at The Ring's favourite interviews. Let us explain why...

about for them

Did you know?
In most of
the Western World, the number seven stands for luck, health and
prosperity. It has good religious connotations and appears repeatedly
throughout The Bible.

Superstition
is playing a bigger part than normal in this summer's weddings...
Obviously, no bride would walk under a ladder or break a mirror
on purpose in the months leading up to her wedding, but we were
surprised to hear that the luck pendulum swings both ways.
July
7th, 2007 - aka 7/7/07 - is proving to be one of the most
popular days of the year (or century) to tie the knot. Even luckier, the
day falls on a convenient wedding-friendly Saturday. And a lot of brides
know it!
With
three sevens on their invites, couples could potentially be
blessed with triple the luck and a lifetime of happiness, right?
Right. But there is one drawback...
Brides are starting to find that their luck has run out when it
comes to booking vendors. "... Pretty much everyone is booked
because everyone wants to get married on 7/7/7," says
mandarin25, a local bride and veteran to The Ring's K-W &
Area chat boards. Another bride, going by the nickname Infusion,
admits that she is just beginning to run into troubles. But she
is still confident, "I didn't have too much trouble with
bookings so far, but it looks like decorators are harder because
I have a popular date and there aren't too many in the area."
Staff at The Ring called around ourselves and found the same.
Nearly every vendor we spoke to was either booked solid for this
wedding date, or had received more inquiries for the date than
for any other in the entire year.
Our
advice to those getting married on July 7th, 2007? If you have
your heart set on specific vendors, try to book them as soon as
you can. You can worry about all the little details later... Now
that you have six months and three sevens on your side.

What Comes First?
luvluvluvhim: "I'm curious what other brides consider the most
important things to book first? Me? I think hall/venue/church
photographer dress
Although,
truth be told, all I want to do is dress shop right now!!!! I'm so
excited to put on the white dress!..."
Judi -
Stone Photography: "Hi there! In my experience as a wedding
photographer I find that most people book the venue for the reception,
the church, the photographer and get the dress as the first four things.
Depending upon the person and what they find the most important will
determine which order they do them. Normally I am either the second of
third on the list of things to do when they become engaged. With all of
that being said, however, each person (couple) is different and whatever
works best for them is the right order of things. Most wedding vendors
do book up anywhere from 9 to 15 months in advance. Hope that helps!"

Looking for a Gown!

first things I want to do is find my gown! Can anyone suggest a great
store or advice on what I should be looking for when looking for that
perfect gown (other than the obvious - that I love it!)
