The
Wedding Decorators helps local brides design the wedding of their dreams
From
the heart of downtown Brampton, The Wedding Decorators tempt local couples to
wedding décor that ties into any theme, from traditional and elegant to
contemporary with the latest hottest colours. From charger plates and chair
covers to man daps and Christian pew bows, there isn't a lot that owner,
Sherisse Bhimani, hasn't done for her brides.
In person...
The
Wedding Decorators has been in business for just over three years. Sherisse
started out of her home originally, like many decorators, with her husband
involved in the business with her. But whether it's due to her great personality
or her beautiful décor, she quickly outgrew her home and moved into a fully
decorated downtown Brampton showroom. This is where you'll find her most often,
preparing for the next event, working with students from the Humber College Arts
Program (Sherisse runs an internship), or meeting with couples to being custom
designing the look of their wedding day.
And from the look of
The Wedding Decorator's calendar, whatever they are doing, is working. This
company is booked every Saturday and quite a few Sundays. Whereas there used to
be a wedding season followed by 'down time',
Sherisse finds that her events are going further and further throughout
the year, "September and October have taken over from what used to be done in
May, June and July. We are always planning for an event."
And that's the way
Sherisse likes it. "I love every aspect of wedding
decorating... Even when I was younger, everyone said I would definitely be doing
something to do with decorating... I was always talking about colours,
materials, centerpieces, florals, themes..."
Your Wedding Decorators
This company has done
events all over the Brampton and Toronto areas. Just a few to
Sherisse's credit include the Supreme Banquet Hall, the Mississauga
Convention Centre, The Pearson, Dinardo's Mansion and more.
Sherisse
offers chair covers, linens, silk flower arrangements, ceiling
treatments and just about anything you could need for a wedding of any ethnic
background or theme.
Sherisse believes
that aside from props and colour schemes, it's important that you have the
opportunity to get to know your decorator - after all, you could be working with
them for several months. "I'll tell
them, here’s a little bit about me, about my husband... I'll give them my
background and certifications... If they're going to trust me with their
wedding, they should feel comfortable with me as a person too."
Pricing & packages
The first order of
business when it comes to your wedding is for
Sherisse to find out exactly what you want. She's happy to use her own
creative ideas and suggestions, but if you have something definite in mind, it
will be all about you.
Sherisse keeps her
decorating costs low by importing a lot of her inventory from overseas. Her
chair covers cost $1 to $1.50 each to rent, depending on various details. "I offer three different packages, and between them, one will fall into approximately
what a bride wants." Then they customize from there. The Wedding Decorators have
done weddings for $100 and weddings for $5000, for 80 guests and 1000 guests.
Sherisse says the cost depends on the budget of her couples and of course, how important décor is to them.
