Reviewing Michael Kalmar, Co-Owner of The Old Mill
An unforgettable setting for your wedding day – or weekend
The Old Mill, having stood in its place since the early 1930's, is gorgeous, historical, and exciting for a couple who wants a beautiful but unique wedding. Here you could be exchanging vows in a sixteenth-century candlelit chapel. You could be taking photos against Tudor-style architecture or beautiful gardens. You could host your reception in any one of sixteen banquet rooms - many of which have fireplaces, picture windows, and walk-out patios. Even further, on-site florists and catering, luxury rooms and a spa are among some of your options with the all-inclusive wedding approach this locale takes in order to truly pamper you. With The Old Mill, it's fair to say that a fabulous wedding is definitely an option.
In person... Michael Kalmar, Co-Owner of The Old Mill, told staff at The Ring, "We pride ourselves on the excellent quality of our food and service... You can choose one of our sample wedding menus or put together your own..." If you want it, they can likely provide it. The Old Mill's team of professional wedding planners are there to coordinate all your dreams for the big day.
"Weddings are one of the most significant celebrations in life," says Michael, and he's proud of the role The Old Mill plays in making each one a success. That's why they've gone so far as to have as much for your wedding on-site as they possibly can, from flowers to food. Anything they can't provide you with, they are happy to make recommendations for, such as photographers, videographers and disc jockeys.
Taking full advantage Many of the couples who plan their wedding with The Old Mill, stay for the entire weekend (or longer), and often invite their wedding guests to do the same.
One of the reasons to 'move in' for several days is the spa. The Old Mill's Spa is extremely popular with brides for its long list of exotic treatments from Dead Sea mud wraps to rosemary mint pedicures or therapeutic Swedish massages.
After the event, many couples stay in one of the Inn's luxurious rooms that come with 100% linen sheets, down-filled duvets, deep soaking whirlpool tubs, a fireplace, private bar, and stereo system. If you want to splurge, book a suite in the historic Old Mill building.
The essential details The Old Mill has coordinated weddings from as far away as Europe, but most couples come in person to see everything beforehand and meet one of their wedding specialists to plan the big day.
The chapel can accommodate one hundred and thirty guests, and the reception rooms hold anywhere from twenty to six hundred. Weddings are usually booked six to twelve months in advance, but The Old Mill may be able to squeeze in something on short notice and invites all inquiries.
There are four packages available, ranging from $95 to $112 per person. The deposit – from $350 to $1250, depending on the room – is due on booking, and the balance is payable fourteen business days before your event.
