Gurbir Rana, Sumita Sikand, Meenu Brar and Suchita Sikand, the four co-owners of Event Haus love how the weddings and events they plan really show the passion and creativity they have - something that we experienced first-hand when we met them. A perfection-seeking foursome, these women go above and beyond average expectations. They bring a positive attitude, out-of-the-box thinking and can work with any vision you may have. The beginning: A kitchen merger

Growing up together, Sumita and Gurbir planned many events like the high school prom, fundraisers, birthday parties and weddings. Going their separate ways, the two got their university degrees – one in Management and the other in Sciences. Both successful in their corporate careers; the two were discussing one day the need for professional wedding coordinators who are not only creative and organized but who also have the business acumen to keep the bride on budget and organize a perfect wedding. Good things happen at the kitchen table. Chatting together at the dinner table, Sumita and Gurbir brought up the idea of event planning to Meenu and Suchita. Being Management and Marketing graduates themselves, the two girls saw a wonderful opportunity to use their creativity and marketing ideas to create unique weddings with fresh a perspective. That's when Event Haus was created.

 

Soon it was a reality with the four women merging their talents to create Event Haus. Why the German name? While Meenu, Suchita, and Sumita were visiting Munich, Germany (with pregnant Gurbir resting at home) they came across a beer hall called Hofbrauhaus. Renowned as a major attraction in Munich, the beer hall is a huge meeting place for Germans and tourists. Its hearty food, upbeat music and happy atmosphere draws people from around the world. The ladies polka danced away from the Hofbrauhaus knowing they wanted to capture the spirit and energy of the Hall at events back home. Laughter, music, food and a good time – these would be the elements of Event Haus – with a mix of traditional and modern.

 

A vision for your wedding

The mission at Event Haus is to transform client’s vision into reality. Through a complimentary initial meeting, your coordinator will ask you to picture your wedding day before anything is discussed. They want to get to know you and what you envision for your special day before putting anything to paper. They understand how intimate and wonderful this time is in your life. They will work with your ideas and budget and add the Event Haus touch to surpass your expectations.

 

Event Haus understands that all their clients have unique ideas and requirements therefore all the packages and services are customized. After the initial complimentary meeting your coordinator will suggest a package to you that fits your needs and budget. Event Haus told us that their average Day of Coordination starts at $750 and goes up. To give you an idea for their Total Wedding Package, it is usually in the range of 10% of the budget, however in most cases Event Haus works with the couple based on their specific needs and therefore, is charged accordingly for their services.

 

Event Haus provides a Total Wedding Package where they will assist you with everything from creating and managing the budget to assisting in selecting vendors, creating a floor plan for the ceremony and reception as well as creating a detailed timeline of all the events. They will be there for the rehearsal dinner to go through the itinerary and deal with any last minute changes. On the day of the wedding Event Haus will be there when your day starts and stay until all the details are taken care of and the guests are busy enjoying a great reception!

 

Consultation is another popular package where these experienced coordinators can answer any of your questions; whether it be related to trends and décor ideas, etiquette or even if you simply want vendor recommendations that have been tried and tested by Event Haus.

 

The ladies' favorite package is Day of Coordination. Couples can do the planning at their own pace but they can trust that the coordinators of Event Haus will be their eyes and ears on their most important day. Event Haus will ensure that the couple’s vision comes to life and make it one of their most memorable days.

 

By popular demand from the grooms, Event Haus also offers Honeymoon Planning. Event Haus will take care of every planning need from assisting in selecting hotels, to booking air tickets as well as all the details for your honeymoon - right from when you arrive to your destination to when you are ready to come back home.

 

No matter which package you select, Event Haus aims to provide a stress free day for the couple, their families and the bridal party. The team redefines customer service by being in constant communication with their couples and being adaptable to any changes that occur. The foursome is always adding value by keeping up with latest trends and providing cost savings ideas to their clients.

 

Talent for dynamic events

To keep on track, the ladies at Event Haus are very serious in getting your feedback after the event – through a colleague who's not directly involved in your wedding – to get honest comments. Event Haus takes the suggestions from its many bridal clients to improve their techniques, skills and overall customer satisfaction. Although quite often there's nothing to improve on. Linda and Linsey are wedding clients of Event Haus. Your expert planners

If you add up the event planning experience of the women of Event Haus, you're looking at twenty-five years of wedding and event planning expertise. All four coordinators share the love for planning weddings and events. They feel privileged to be a part of their couple’s special day. Sumita and Suchita are sisters so it's great for them to be a part of the same dream. Altogether, these talented women create fabulous weddings and happy newlyweds.

 

Suchita

Suchita brings her friendly style and ability to relate to the brides while consistently bringing a fresh perspective to each event. She is not only a talented coordinator but is often regarded as the coach and mediator by the couple and their families. A graduate with honours from York University, her marketing know-how is also a big plus for the team. "I love to see events come to life."

Meenu

Meenu is very hands-on in the running of Event Haus. A York grad with an honours degree in general management, she's known the girls for five years. Part of the corporate world, she brings her business skills into the mix, though it's not her only asset. "This career really allows me to unleash my creative side," Meenu told The Ring.

Gurbir

"I'm the hopeless romantic of the group," Gurbir told us, "... living my dream of running my own company and helping brides plan their weddings." Married for eight years with two children, Gurbir has found a great balance at Event Haus which supports her roles as a wife, mother and business woman. With BComm and MBA degrees in entrepreneurial studies, a corporate background in planning, and certification with the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada, Gurbir is a perfect fit with Event Haus.

Sumita

Sumita, who used to work on delivering new systems in her corporate life, now works keenly on delivering flawless weddings. Her passion for planning events and her attention to detail help her build a great relationship with her clients. Her analytical mind isn't a surprise – she holds a degree in biology and psychology from York and is certified from Wedding Planners Institute of Canada A sharp brainstormer, she has a knack for hearing your ideas and knowing exactly what will work for your wedding.

It's best to contact Event Haus approximately 6 to 12 months ahead of your wedding. However, they are always willing to help out their clients. Contact them 1 to 3 months before your wedding and if any one of the women are available, they will be happy to be a part of your wedding.

A deposit of 10% will secure Event Haus' services for your wedding date. This is not refundable and it will ensure that they save your wedding date and the week preceding your wedding date simply to look after all your details.

Applicable taxes are in addition to quoted prices.
